President Pahor in Belgrade today with President Nikoliæ

Belgrade, 3. 6. 2015 | press release

Today, 3 June 2015, the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, and the President of the Republic of Serbia, Tomislav Nikoliæ, met for a working lunch in Belgrade. President Nikoliæ took this opportunity to confirm his attendance at the summit of the leaders of the Brdo Process to be held early next week in Budva, Montenegro. The two Presidents then assessed the progress and setbacks in the European Union’s enlargement in the Western Balkans. They established that last year several political and security challenges arose whose peaceful resolution requires a strong commitment from the leaders. In this context, they view the summit in Budva as useful and especially topical, under the condition, of course, that the leaders completely openly express their opinions, even though they may differ.

Presidents Pahor and Nikoliæ said that economic cooperation has been developing as agreed at the previous meetings of leaders. At the end of the meeting, President Nikoliæ accepted President Pahor’s invitation to pay an official visit to Slovenia on 10 October 2015.
