President of the Republic of Slovenia Borut Pahor receives the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey, Cemil Çiçek.

The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, today received the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey, Cemil Çiçek, who is on a two-day official visit to Slovenia.

President Pahor and Mr Çiçek considered that the relations between Slovenia and Turkey in the political, economic, education and research, and cultural areas were all good and agreed that in the future it will be necessary to take advantage of other opportunities for the enhancement of economic cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the field of investments.

President Pahor assured his guest that Slovenia remains a firm supporter of Turkey’s efforts towards accession to the European Union.
