The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, today hosted a reception for the newly elected Government of the Republic of Slovenia.
The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, hosted a reception for the newly elected Government of the Republic of Slovenia.

The Slovenian President addressed guests at the official reception and stressed that at this moment Slovenia needs practical measures and long-term vision. He expressed his belief that these objectives can only be achieved if the Government, the National Assembly, social partners, non-governmental organisations and other stakeholders work together for the benefit of the people and the welfare of the country. He said that the work undertaken by the Government is often thankless, given that often its mandate and powers require swift actions, which might sometimes not be sufficiently considered but are unavoidable.

President Pahor also presented the Slovenia 2030 project and invited all to participate in it. He wishes to bring together intellectual and other capacities available in Slovenian society with a view to focusing their consideration on the future of the country. He assured Prime Minister Bratušek of the willingness of his Office to work together with the Government, with a view to creating a long-term vision of Slovenia that will give meaning to short-term measures. President Pahor is convinced that all stakeholders must, within the framework of their respective powers, work together for the common good, as Slovenia has the knowledge, skills and ability to jointly find its way out of the crisis.

President Pahor concluded his address by wishing Prime Minister Bratušek and her team all the best and plenty of courage and good fortune.
