President Pahor signs book of condolences in memory of the victims of the terrorist attack on the offices of Charlie Hebdo

Today the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, visited the Embassy of the French Republic in Slovenia, where he was the first to sign the book of condolences in honour of the victims of the attack on the offices of the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in Paris.
President Pahor paid his respects to the victims and expressed his heartfelt condolences to their families and his support to the President of the French Republic and the French nation. He signed the condolence book at the Embassy and left the following message: "Jaz sem Charlie" (I am Charlie).

On today's visit to the Embassy, President Pahor met with the French Ambassador, Pierre-François Mourier, with whom he spoke about the extent of this horrific act and the appropriate action to be taken, as well as about Slovenian support for France and the French nation in these difficult moments. He endorsed the intent of the President of the European Council to devote the European Council meeting in February to the topic of terrorism. President Pahor added that tolerance and prudence are essential in dealing with this problem. He emphasised that peace and security will be extremely important issues in 2015.

Following the tragic events in France, today the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, was the first to sign the book of condolences started by the Embassy of the French Republic to honour the victims of the attack on the offices of the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.
