According to its participants, there were several promising meetings on the margins of the business forum with Latvian businessmen from a wide range of industries. These meetings resulted in a number of potential agreements being reached, which, however, now need to be realised.

The Slovenian President then visited the Latvian Parliament, where he met its Deputy Speaker, Solvita Āboltiņa. Both agreed that their respective countries are bound by a common understanding of the past and future shared goals. President Türk emphasised the importance of the Parliament in a vibrant, representative democracy. His talks with Ms Āboltiņa then focused on the situation in Afghanistan, and the measures introduced by both Latvia and Slovenia in tackling the economic crisis. They established that, in this time of recession, the two countries encounter problems of a similar nature, and agreed that explicit reform measures require dialogue with all partners and stakeholders involved.
