On the second day of the official visit of the Bulgarian President in Slovenia, the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Danilo Türk, and the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Dr Georgi Parvanov, met for a working breakfast.
Later they attended the Slovenian-Bulgarian Business Conference, where they addressed the participants. |
Among the potential areas for the development of economic cooperation, President Türk singled out investments, energy, construction (particularly specialised construction), agricultural machinery, pharmaceuticals, green technologies and renewable energy sources. He also called for the linking of the economic cooperation between both countries with disbursements from EU cohesion funds and the exchange of experiences related to the development of e-administration. |
President Parvanov emphasised the positive development of trade and investments, at the same time stressing there is still more to be achieved as there are many more opportunities to further expedite the development of economic relations. In his words, Bulgaria is interested in investments in its economy and strives to provide continuity in the investment sector, together with a stable tax environment, thereby attracting many foreign investors. |
