Slovenian President receives Serbian Prime Minister

The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Danilo Türk, receives the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Dr Mirko Cvetkoviæ (photo: Stanko Gruden/STA)The Slovenian President, Dr Danilo Türk, today received the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Dr Mirko Cvetkoviæ, who is on an official visit to Slovenia. During their talks, Dr Türk and Dr Cvetkoviæ expressed their satisfaction with progress on bilateral co-operation.

The Slovenian President emphasised that the Agreement on Social Insurance signed by Slovenia and Serbia has been ratified and an exchange of instruments of ratification is expected in the near future. This is an important step that will help resolve the issue of pensions of Serbian nationals who have worked in Slovenia.

The two dignitaries agreed that the settlement of specific bilateral issues is fundamental to further development of relations and to Slovenia's assistance to Serbia on its path to EU membership.
