Slovenian President receives Hungarian Prime Minister

The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Danilo Türk, received the Prime Minister of the Republic of Hungary, Viktor Orbán, who is currently on an official visit to the Republic of Slovenia. They discussed bilateral cooperation, European issues and development challenges.
The two statesmen have agreed that both countries have good bilateral relations and that they are interested in further developing this cooperation. In this context, infrastructure projects are of major importance. Prime Minister Orbán has reaffirmed his commitment that the Verica-Gornji Senik road will be built over the course of the next year.
Their discussion focused on development issues, highlighting the difference between Slovenia and Hungary regarding the attitude towards the welfare state. President Türk has pointed out that for Slovenia the welfare state is one of the essential elements of Slovenian identity and that, in search for answers to development issues, the issue of the welfare state has a central role.
