Slovenian President on Death of Former Libyan Leader, Gaddafi

The Slovenian president, Dr Danilo Türk, responded to the death of the former Libyan leader, Muammar al-Gaddafi, in the battle for Sirte. In the president's view, this event could contribute to an early end to the civil war in Libya. Mr Türk also expressed his hope that the conflicts in this country would soon come to an end and that, while building the rule of law and democratic institutions, the process of the consolidation of democratic institutions would continue. The Slovenian president added that Slovenia has been assisting the Libyan people by providing humanitarian aid, which will be further intensified in the coming weeks.
