Slovenian President receives Slovenia's participants at I Winter Youth Olympic Games

The Slovenia's participants at the I Winter Youth Olympic Games present the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Danilo Türk, with an Olympic torch (photo: Stanko Gruden/STA)The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Danilo Türk, today hosted a reception for Slovenia's participants at the I Winter Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck. In his welcome address, President Türk congratulated the Slovenian team for their exceptional success as, once again, Slovenia ranked first out of all the countries in the world in terms of the number of medals received per capita. According to President Türk, the standard achieved by Slovenia's sportsmen and women has garnered huge respect among the countries of the world and proves that Slovenia is a sporting nation.

"It's all ahead of you. Therefore, remain as you are, be good, work well and then all will be well for all of us, too," said President Türk, thanking the young sportsmen and women once again for their achievements. The members of the Slovenian sports team thanked President Türk in turn for the reception and presented him with an Olympic torch they had brought back with them from Innsbruck.
