Slovenian President receives Speaker of the House of Commons

The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Danilo Türk, today received the Speaker of the House of Commons of the United Kingdom, John Bercow. The two discussed dilemmas concerning the development of democracy in Europe.

In this context, they touched on techniques of dialogue that are helpful in connection with seeking compromise, cooperation of parties in government with opposition parties, frequent use of referendums and the issue of human rights.
