President Türk congratulates President-Elect of Serbia

President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Danilo Türk, congratulated the newly-elected President of the Republic of Serbia, Tomislav Nikoliĉ, on behalf of the Republic of Slovenia and on his own behalf, on the victory in the Sunday presidential elections.

In his letter of congratulation President Türk wrote: "I would like to take this opportunity to express my desire and confidence that the friendly relations between the Republic of Slovenia and the Republic of Serbia will continue to develop positively and that our dialogue will contribute to the good relations between the two countries. With your election, I expect and believe that the Republic of Serbia will continue on its path of commitment to European values and endeavours towards the implementation of reforms required for progress in EU accession. Regional cooperation and good neighbourly relations are key elements in the provision and consolidation of stability and development of the region. I wish you every success in the discharge of your new duties as well as personal satisfaction in addressing new challenges."
