Slovenian President attends Forbes CEO Forum, Europe as special guest

The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Danilo Türk, accompanied by his wife, today attended the conference of the Forbes CEO Europe Forum, the forum of leading members of the European business community. The conference is organised by Steve Forbes, a renowned American businessman and owner of the Forbes Magazine and other prestigious business publications.

The Slovenian President attended the conference as the special guest of Steve Forbes. In the main section of the programme, the host had an open 45-minute conversation with Dr Türk in the presence of 200 invited conference participants, all of them leading businessmen from Europe and the United States of America. The questions referred to the Slovenian EU Presidency priorities, particularly in connection with global warming, the situation in the Balkans, the role of Russia and its cooperation with the EU, intercultural dialogue and the status of minorities, as well as the issue of Iraq. Several questions also touched on the economic and political development of Slovenia.

Upon arrival, Dr Danilo Türk and his wife Barbara Mikliè Türk were received by Albert II, Prince of Monaco, with whom they had a brief conversation.
