President expressed condolences on the death of Kiro Gligorov

President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Danilo Türk, expressed his sincere condolences to the people of the Republic of Macedonia on the death of Macedonia’s first president Kiro Gligorov.

President Türk wrote in his letter of condolence to the Macedonian President: "The international community will remember Mr Gligorov as a wise statesman, who took Macedonia on a peaceful path towards independence, democracy and market economy. His political, scientific and publishing activity was marked by conscious and tolerant decision-making as well as his sense for the common good. Kiro Gligorov was a man of peace, who significantly contributed to solving issues in South-Eastern Europe and to consolidating international peace and security."
