 | The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Danilo Türk, and his wife, Barbara Mikliè Türk, attended the last individual competition at the Planica 2012 – FIS World Cup Ski Jumping Final. Like thousands of supporters, the President and his spouse were thrilled with the success of our ski jumpers, who made sure the Slovenian national anthem could be heard along the entire valley under the Ponce mountains.
The President complimented the organisers of the event on their work on the ski jump. As they told him, they tried their best for the event to be as successful as possible. According to the President, Planica symbolises the best achievements of Slovenia, audacity, and new perspectives.
The President also supports the candidacy of Planica for the Nordic Ski World Championship 2017. He said that he hoped the Nordic Centre would be completed as soon as possible and become a new symbol of Slovenia. This is a big pan-Slovenian project that will give Planica additional weight so, according to the President, all the activities being performed must make up a coherent general image. |
