 The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Danilo Türk, has conferred the Golden Order for Services on the former Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Catherine Lalumière, for her support during Slovenia's efforts to gain independence and sovereignty, and for her role in Slovenia's accession to the Council of Europe.
In his address, Dr Türk thanked Ms Lalumière for her contribution to Slovenia's integration into the family of European nations and for her exceptional contribution to the transformation of Europe. He stressed that the future of Europe has always depended on great personalities, among whom Catherine Lalumière ranks highly. |
