President Türk and Mr Erdoğan shared the view that the level of bilateral cooperation between the two countries is good, and that quality contacts at the highest level are frequently maintained. Nevertheless, they stressed that there is still untapped economic cooperation potential that needs to be further developed.

The Turkish Prime Minister informed President Türk of Turkey's efforts to resolve the crisis in Syria, and they both agreed that they shared similar views on this issue. Their talks also focused on the situation elsewhere in the Middle East, and President Türk again advocated swift progress to be made in the Middle East peace process. President Türk and Mr Erdoğan also touched upon the situation in the Western Balkans. The Slovenian President drew attention to the constructive role played by Turkey in the region, particularly in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in Kosovo, while the Turkish Prime Minister took the view that Slovenia is one of the key stabilising factors in the region.
