Slovenian President Meets Foreign Ambassadors on Humanitarian Aid in Gaza

President Türk meets with ambassadors accredited in the Republic of Slovenia to discuss development of a humanitarian aid project for victims of the Gaza conflict (FA BOBO) The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Danilo Türk, held a meeting with ambassadors accredited in the Republic of Slovenia at which he introduced the development of a humanitarian aid project for victims of the Gaza conflict. President Türk recalled that 21 children visited Slovenia in June of this year and were provided with expert care and rehabilitation treatment at the Institute for Rehabilitation of the Republic of Slovenia. Dr Türk announced that three more groups of ten children each would visit Slovenia. At the beginning of August, experts from the Institute will begin triage for patients in Gaza, while a new group of children is expected to arrive in Slovenia in September. At present, preparations are under way for advanced education of local physiotherapists and rehabilitation experts, who will be trained in Slovenia for providing therapy treatment and other forms of rehabilitation to children in Gaza. At the same time, the materials needed to provide rehabilitation in Gaza are being collected. President Türk also expressed his thanks for the previous and expected assistance of foreign countries in carrying out these activities.
