President Türk receives Supreme Allied Commander Transformation

The President of the Republic of Slovenia and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, Dr Danilo Türk, today received the Supreme Allied Commander Transformation, French Air Force General Stephane Abrial.

In a lengthy conversation, they discussed a number of issues, in particular, the transformation of the NATO strategic concept and future challenges.

The two agreed on the importance of strengthening trust between NATO and other actors in the Euro - Asian space, in particular between NATO and the Russian Federation, and focused on a series of concrete issues.

The two commanders also discussed the tasks of international organisations in coordinating their work, in particular setting up and managing peace operations, which are increasingly involving regional organisations along with the UN.
