The symbol of Srebrenica is a pin in the form of a white flower with eleven white petals symbolising 11 July and innocence, and a green circle symbolising hope and life. Wearing the symbol is a mark of respect for the victims of the massacre, and also a warning that the events which took place at Srebrenica must never be repeated anywhere else. The President of the Republic was an honorary sponsor of events organised by the Zemzem association to commemorate the 17th anniversary of the Srebrenica massacre.

The exhibition was viewed by many visitors, including the President of the Italian Republic, Giorgio Napolitano, who visited the National Assembly on Tuesday. President Türk advocated the idea that in contacts with Bosnia and Herzegovina respect for the memory of the victims of the massacre in Srebrenica would be consistent, during visits of political delegations as well as on other occasions. He stressed the importance of information and the translation of works into Slovenian which testify to this tragic event.
