President of Slovenia congratulated to the new elected President of the United States of America

The President of the Republic of Slovenia Dr Danilo Türk expressed today early in the morning sincere congratulations to the new elected President of the United States of America Barack Obama on behalf of the people of the Republic of Slovenia and on his own behalf. In his letter of congratulation President Türk expressed satisfaction with excellent and friendly relations between the Republic of Slovenia and the United States of America. He stressed that common values and the commitment to mutual understanding among nations and cultures, as well as to the fundamental freedoms and human rights, provides a firm foundation for future cooperation in bilateral and multilateral area.

"Facing the challenges of global nature in today’s world requires mutual understanding, trust and partnership. I look forward to working with you in the endeavour for closer relations between our countries, as well as for constructive cooperation in dealing with global issues. I wish you all the success in the discharge of the duties you are to assume as the President of the United States of America," wrote the President of Slovenia.
