President of the Republic comments on the proposal for cooperation with Croatia in air policing missions

When answering questions by journalists on the occasion of his working visit to Zagreb, the President of the Republic, Dr Danilo Türk, commented on the proposal for cooperation with Croatia in air policing missions. The President said that cooperation was certainly a good thing, adding, however, that the information about negotiations with Croatia for joint air policing missions surprised him.

President Türk stressed that Slovenia already had an arrangement for this purpose within NATO and that he saw no reason why there should be any changes. The President expressed his belief that the Slovene Prime Minister and his Croatian counterpart will provide an explanation of what they had in mind in this particular case and that discussions will continue to be held on such issues in the future.
