The President of the Republic, dr. Janez Drnovšek, visited the Paediatric clinic in Ljubljana today. He was received by the expert director prof. dr. Ciril Kržišnik who had invited him to visit young patients at the pulmonology, gastroenterology and oncology departments. Two representatives of the “Red noses” accompanied the visit of the departments.
Prof. dr. Kržišnik appraised dr. Drnovšek of very poor working conditions at the existing clinic and told him that the staff is looking forward to moving into a new clinic in the coming year. He added that severely ill children up to 19 years of age will remain at the clinic over the holidays. “The pulmonology department is
full because of the current widespread presence of respiratory infections in Ljubljana, many patients need oxygen,” emphasised the expert director.
The President of the Republic, dr. Janez Drnovšek, wished the young patients and their parents a prompt recovery and a happy New Year.
