President Drnovšek receives President of the European Court of Auditors

Dr Janez Drnovšek, President of the Republic of Slovenia, today received Mr Juan Manuel Fabra Vallés, President of the European Court of Auditors, currently on a visit to Slovenia, who also attended celebrations marking the tenth anniversary of Slovenia’s Court of Audit.
Mr Vallés informed Dr Drnovšek of the course of today’s visit and expressed satisfaction with the positive co-operation between the European and the Slovenian Courts of Auditors. He presented the role and operation of the European Court of Auditors and its manner of co-operating with courts of auditors in the European Union Member States, laying particular emphasis on the importance of this co-operation.

President Drnovšek said he was pleased that the President of the European Court of Auditors had visited Slovenia and that he looked forward to further co-operation between the two institutions. At the close of the talks, Dr Drnovšek wished Mr Vallés every success in his work.
