President Dr Drnovšek expressed his condolences on death of Kosovo President Ibrahim Rugova

President of the Republic of Slovenia Dr Janez Drnovšek sent a letter of condolences to wife of the Kosovo President Ibrahim Rugova, in which he expressed his deepest condolences on the death of her husband. In the letter the President Drnovšek wrote:
"I have been much grieved to learn of the death of your husband Mr Ibrahim Rugova, who won international respect through his peaceful and life-long endeavors for political and cultural rights of people of Kosovo.
Mr Rugova will be remembered as a great man of courage and vision who was always striving for peaceful solutions for his nation. We share your sadness and belief that his brave steps will be democratically followed by his successors.
On this sad occasion, I would like to extend to you and to the other members of the family my deepest condolences. May I request you to convey the expressions of my deepest sympathy to the people of Kosovo."
