Farewell meeting of Slovenian President and visiting Swedish Royal Couple

The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Janez Drnovšek, today received the Swedish King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia at the close of their official visit to Slovenia. The Swedish Royal Couple again thanked their host for the invitation and hospitality that they and their accompanying delegation had enjoyed during their visit. At the end of the day's programme, the Royal Couple also expressed admiration for Slovenia's beautiful landscape.
Earlier, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia visited the WWI museum in Kobarid and the village of Čadrg in the Triglav National Park where they visited an ecological farm (Lovrčeva kmetija) and a village cheese dairy. They also visited the Movia wine cellar in Goriška brda, where they were guests of the President of the National Assembly, Mr Borut Pahor.
President Drnovšek expressed his satisfaction with the successful visit and wished the Royal Couple a safe return home. At the end of the meeting, the Slovenian President presented Queen Silvia with his book, Escape from Hell (Moja resnica), due to the interest she had expressed for the period described in the book.
