The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Janez Drnovšek, received today His Royal Highness The Prince Andrew, The Duke of York and hosted him to working lunch.
President Dr Janez Drnovšek and the Duke of York discussed economic cooperation between Slovenia and the United Kingdom. Prince Andrew was particularly interested in Slovenia's natural beauties and tourist facilities.
The President of the Republic and his distinguished guest devoted a considerable amount of time to problems in Southeastern Europe and to the possibilities of resolving all existing outstanding issues and tensions among the states and nations of this area in the light of the European perspective. Prince Andrew was particularly interested in the position of Slovenia's president on finding a solution to the Kosovo issue. President Dr Drnovšek stressed that he sees a solution within the concept of Mr. Ahtisaari's plan, which actually sums up the principles that the President himself has laid down in his Kosovo plan.
