President of the Republic Janez Drnovšek congratulated Nicholas D. Kristof, a columnist for The New York Times, for winning the Pulitzer Prize for his commentaries on the Darfur genocide. President Drnovšek pointed out how he admired the outstanding work of Mr Kristof who, with his commentaries, draws attention to the humanitarian catastrophe in Darfur and thus contributes to saving people in need of urgent help in this region of Sudan.
