Ljubljana, 02/23/2006 | press release
The President of the Republic of Slovenia Dr Janez Drnovšek has received a letter from the Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov in connection with his initiatives to resolve the crisis in Darfur and the establishment of a Movement for Justice and Development.
In his letter President Parvanov welcomed and supported the efforts of Slovenia’s President towards resolving one of the major humanitarian crises of the early 21st century – the crisis in Sudan. At the same time the Bulgarian President expressed his support for the founding of a Movement for Justice and Development.
"I would like to express my solid presidential and personal support for your initiative to found a Movement for Justice and Development, which among other things sets itself the goal of bringing together the efforts and opportunities of the international humanitarian community to put into effect a new approach and spirit in the world political order. I am sure that your noble efforts will touch the hearts of leaders, organisations and ordinary people all over the world and encourage them to contribute to eradicating humanitarian tragedies in the world."
