President Drnovšek receives Letters of Credence from the Georgian Ambassador

The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr. Janez Drnovšek, received today the Letters of Credence from the Ambassador of the Georgian Republic, Mr. Nikoloz Nikolozishvili, who is stationed in Bratislava and who will be a non-resident ambassador to Slovenia.
The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr. Janez Drnovšek, defined the relations between the two countries as good and friendly.
The Georgian Ambassador, Mr. Nikoloz Nikolozishvili, acquainted President Drnovšek with the internal political situation in Georgia and stressed the importance of his country's approximation to the Euro-Atlantic structures, expressed appreciation of its economic development during the past three years and outlined its relations with the neighbouring countries, particularly Russia.
President Drnovšek pointed out that a country's relations with its neighbours are always complex and should be based particularly on diplomatic dialogue in order to ensure peace, stability and good living standard, which, to his belief, Georgia certainly deserves. Moreover, President Drnovšek expressed his hope that Georgia's integration will be peaceful and that the country will establish trust and good neighbourly relations.
At the end, the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr. Janez Drnovšek, said that Slovenia is going to make every effort to promote the development of relations between the two countries in their mutual interest and expressed his best wishes to the Georgian Ambassador, Mr. Nikoloz Nikolozishvili, for his work in the future.
