President Drnovšek receives Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Serghei Lavrov

The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Janez Drnovšek, today received the Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Serghei Lavrov, who will be attending the 13th OSCE Ministerial Council in Ljubljana.
President Drnovšek and Mr Lavrov talked about bilateral relations between Slovenia and Russia, which they assessed as good, and stressed that there were still many possibilities for the development of co-operation, in particular in the economic field. Mutual interest in co-operation can also be seen in the intense contact at the political level.
Dr Drnovšek and Mr Lavrov paid a great deal of attention in their talks to the central topics of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Ljubljana in the coming days. They also discussed stability and unresolved issues in South-East Europe, focusing on the status of Kosovo and the situation in Serbia and Montenegro, as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina ten years after Dayton.
