Letters of Credence presented by the Ambassador of Monaco

The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Janez Drnovšek, today received the newly appointed Ambassador of Monaco, Mr. Philippe Blanchi, who presented to him his letters of credence.
The President of the Republic of Slovenia particularly emphasized the friendly relationship between the Principality of Monaco and Slovenia that was additionally strengthened by the visit of his Serene Highness Prince Albert II, Prince of Monaco, to our country a year ago. There exist many more possibilities for the improvement of our mutual cooperation also in the economic area and in development of tourism. We also appreciate cooperation in the field of environment protection and humanitarian activities.
The Ambassador of the Principality of Monaco, who will cover Slovenia from Rome, said that Monaco has been strengthening its diplomatic network, which will make this otherwise small country more firmly rooted in the Europe and the world. Slovenia is a friendly country that has made significant achievements during the recent years since it will be presiding the EU in the first half of the coming year. Both countries have a lot in common, therefore the Ambassador will strive for an even more fruitful cooperation between the two countries.
