The concluding meeting between President Dr Drnovšek and Romanian President Iliescu

President Dr Janez Drnovšek met Romanian President Ion Iliescu today at the conclusion of his official visit to Slovenia.
President Iliescu thanked President Dr Drnovšek for his invitation and for the hospitality he and his delegation had enjoyed during their visit. At the same time, he emphasised that this visit was a reaffirmation of the excellent relations between the two countries and will contribute, above all, to the strengthening of economic co-operation in the future.
President Dr Drnovšek expressed his satisfaction with the successful visit and once again assured President Iliescu of Slovenia’s support of Romania in its endeavours to join the European Union.
