Congratulations to the newly elected French President

The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Janez Drnovšek, today congratulated the newly elected French President Nicolas Sarkozy. The letter read:
"I take great pleasure in congratulating you personally, as well as on behalf of the Slovenian nation, on your election as President of the French Republic and in extending to you my sincerest wishes for much success in this demanding and responsible position.
I am pleased that Slovenia and France have achieved such a high level of friendly relations and cooperation in a variety of fields. The forthcoming period offers us new opportunities for further enhancement of our cooperation. I am convinced that under your leadership Slovenia and France will be able not only to benefit from our mutual relations in pursuit of new accomplishments but also to contribute jointly to the development of a world that will be both richer and more secure for the generations to come.
Please accept my best wishes for our future cooperation and the assurance of my highest consideration."
