Letters of Credence presented by the Ambassador of Malaysia
Ljubljana, 07/18/2007 | press release
The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Janez Drnovšek, today accepted the Letters of Credence of the newly appointed Malaysian Ambassador to Slovenia, Dato' Kamilan Maksom.
Slovenian President emphasised that Malaysia due to its economic and internal political stability may serve as an example to many countries around the world and to those, in particular, which have a similarly varied composition of the population with regard to religion. He also assessed as positive the active role of Malaysia in international affairs. This is one of the reasons why in the past Slovenia developed good cooperation with this Asian country within the UN and other areas. There are also good prospects for enhancing the bilateral cooperation.
Ambassador Maksom pledged to support the enhancement of the cooperation with Slovenia and the EU which is an important Malaysian partner in various areas. He also expressed his hopes that Slovenia in its capacity as holder of the Presidency of the EU will promote the cooperation between Malaysia and the EU.
