President Drnovšek receives the Danish Foreign Minister

Today, the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Janez Drnovšek, received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Denmark, Dr Per Stig Moeller, who is on a working visit to Slovenia.
During their meeting, Dr Drnovšek and Dr Moeller discussed several topical issues in international relations, particularly the developments in the Iraqi crisis. They stressed the need for the international community to remain united in resolving this problem and pointed to the primary role of the UN Security Council in this process.
During their talk, President Drnovšek and Foreign Minister Moeller also touched on the course the EU is taking in its development, especially with respect to aspects of the work in the Convention and the drafting of the European Constitution. Dr Drnovšek availed himself of this occasion to congratulate his guest for the successful Danish Presidency of the Council of the EU, during which the Copenhagen Summit irreversibly opened the door to enlargement.
Towards the end of the visit, Dr Drnovšek and Dr Moeller also talked about bilateral relations and assessed them as extremely good, with no unresolved issues. They also agreed that Slovenia's forthcoming entry into the EU offered various fresh possibilities for deepening mutual co-operation, especially economically.
