President of the Republic visits Železniki

Today, the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Janez Drnovšek, visited Železniki. The members of the National Crisis Management Centre for the natural disaster recovery: Bojan Žmavc, Director of the Administration for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief, Miran Bogataj, commander of the Civil Protection of the Republic of Slovenia, and Mihael Prevc, Mayor of the Community of Železniki, informed him of the current situation and programme of activities in the forthcoming days in this crisis-stricken area.
The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Janez Drnovšek, expressed his full support to disaster victims and satisfaction with the activities carried out by the Civil Protection, fire brigades, the Slovenian Army, police, other participating organisations and volunteers who are doing their best to provide relief to people afflicted by this natural disaster. The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Janez Drnovšek, visited the disaster-stricken area in the community and learned that people are investing a lot of positive energies and intentions in order to bring the life in the area back to normal as soon as possible.
The President of the Republic has already allocated EUR 25.000 from the budget of his office as a relief assistance to the affected area.
