President of Slovenia Dr. Janez Drnovšek receives President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly

Dr. Janez Drnovšek today received the President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Mr Pierre Lellouche. Mr. Lellouche said by way of introduction that the session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly held in Ljubljana had been very successful and had taken place in excellent working conditions. He stressed the importance of the declarations adopted in relation to the situation in Uzbekistan and Darfur, and said that the debate on other NATO related issues had also proved to be very fruitful.
Their discussion centred on the situation in the Western Balkans, in particular the efforts of the international community to stabilize the situation and open talks on the status of Kosovo. and they also commented on the outcome of the French referendum on the European Constitution and its effect on the activities of the EU and strengthening integration processes.
