The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Janez Drnovšek, talked to Irena Rolih of the Slovene commercial television Info TV on the book An Inconvenient Truth by Al Gore.

Broadcast on 16 March 2007 at 17:00.

Journalist: This week, Mladinska knjiga has brought out the book An Inconvenient Truth written by the former US vice president Al Gore. Irena Rolih has more.

Irena Rolih: Also Slovenia’s President Janez Drnovšek has written some thoughts on this book. This is in his opinion a very important book.

Dr Janez Drnovšek: The book indeed contains several conclusive data illustrating that the atmosphere is truly warming and that our climate is changing. This is shown in a number of different phenomena in varying parts of the world which is slowly losing its natural balance; a number of plant and animal species are disappearing, icebergs are melting, some islands are on the verge of vanishing, ocean currents are changing their course. Natural balance is upset and this will continue to affect our climate.

Irena Rolih: As emphasised by President Drnovšek, this is indeed a severe warning for us all.
