Letters of Credence presented by the Egyptian Ambassador
Ljubljana, 09/27/2007 | press release
The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Janez Drnovšek, today received the newly appointed Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Ahmed Farouk.
Dr Drnovšek expressed satisfaction with the fact that Egypt had opened a permanent embassy in Slovenia, which will certainly contribute to more intensive cooperation between the two countries as well as to better understanding of the problems of this region, in which Egypt represents an important pillar of stability.
The Ambassador passed on greetings from Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, with whom Dr Drnovšek has met frequently in past years. Dr Drnovšek pointed out that the Egyptian President plays an extremely important role in the efforts to calm the situation in the Middle East, problems which not only have an impact on that region but also on the whole world. The President wished the Ambassador every success in his work and a pleasant stay in Slovenia.
