President of the Republic visits Medvode Home for the Elderly

The President of the Republic, Dr Janez Drnovšek, today visited Medvode Home for the Elderly in response to an invitation to visit on the occasion of the 100th birthday of one of the residents.

On arrival at the home, Dr Drnovšek was greeted by the superintendent of the home, Ms Vesna Stariha, who welcomed him and thanked him by presenting him with a small mosaic made by the residents themselves.

During the visit, President Drnovšek said that we must ensure that senior citizens in our country lead a peaceful and quality life in their old age. He stressed that the staff of the home play an important role in this and wished everyone a pleasant stay and an enjoyable holiday season.
