Letters of Credence from Ambassador of Peru

The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Janez Drnovšek, today received the Letters of Credence from the Ambassador of the Republic of Peru, Mr Harry Belevan McBrid, who will be a non-resident ambassador to Slovenia, stationed in Vienna.

Dr Drnovšek and Mr McBrid discussed the next, fifth EU—Latin America Summit scheduled to take place during Slovenia’s presidency of the EU, in mid-May 2008 in Lima, the capital of Peru. They concurred in their opinion that preparations in the run-up to the fifth EU–Latin America Summit would contribute to the enhanced development of bilateral relations. President Drnovšek and Ambassador McBrid also exchanged views on international developments.

Ambassador McBrid reiterated the invitation to President Drnovšek to pay a visit to Peru.
