The author considers the relation between the President of the Republic and the Government. Considered is relation between direct election and power of the President of the state and compared legitimacy of the President of the Republic, Parliament and the Government. Main part of the discource is dedicatet to the functions of the President of the Republic, especially to the function of representation. President of the Republic performs the function of representation in accordance with the basic decisions of the Parliament and respective policy of the Government. Treated is information of the President of the state and coordination on the field of foreign affairs, defense and national security on the whole. The author considers the political influence of the President of the Republic in elections of Parliament and the Prime Minister. Implied is comparative aspect.
